Our latest research paper, titled “Vibration mitigation of offshore structures subjected to wave and wind loads using optimum semi-active tuned mass damper inerter (SATMDI),” has been accepted for publication in a top-tier journal! In this study, we introduce the innovative concept of the Semi-Active Tuned Mass Damper Inerter (SATMDI) for the first time, offering a novel approach to combating vibrations in offshore structures. Through comprehensive evaluations and real-world simulations, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the SATMDI system in mitigating vibrations caused by wave and wind loading, considering factors like fluid-structure interaction and added mass effects. Our findings showcase significant enhancements in energy dissipation, promising improved safety and performance for offshore platforms.
